Definite Integrals
This top image is an example of a definite integral. A definite integral is an integral where the a and the b are replaced by numbers.
NOTE: If you have the B number at the top and the A number at the bottom, and you switch them, the f(x) becomes negative. If you switch them back, the f(x) becomes positive again.
NOTE: If you have the B number at the top and the A number at the bottom, and you switch them, the f(x) becomes negative. If you switch them back, the f(x) becomes positive again.
To solve a problem with a definite integral, you use the fundamental theorem of calculus. A definite Integral problem will always produce a definite answer.
You start off with taking the integral of f(x) and then you use the fundamental theorem of calculus to find the definite answer.
